PMI U.S. Launches IQOS Commercially in Austin Following Successful Pilot
Following a successful pilot program, PMI U.S. has made its IQOS heated tobacco system commercially available to adults 21+ in Austin, Texas, with purchases possible at select mobile locations, through IQOS coaches, and online starting late April 2025.
IQOS, the first heated tobacco system authorized by the FDA, significantly reduces exposure to harmful chemicals compared to traditional cigarettes. Demonstrations and guided trials were hosted for legal-aged adults at the Austin MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas to promote this better alternative, as cigarettes remain the most harmful form of nicotine consumption.
PMI U.S. aims to support the nation's approximately 45 million nicotine consumers—30 million of whom smoke cigarettes—by encouraging a complete switch to smoke-free options to improve public health.
